Alii Tropical Hawaiian Flowers is pleased to announce new protea baskets and wreaths as part of its line of fresh Hawaiian flower assortments, wedding flowers, leis and other gifts. Protea baskets are made by arranging fresh cut flowers in a container for display. Containers are made from coconut husks, leaves or other materials. Protea become excellent dried flowers and the containers are reusable.

“Unlike most floral companies we only use Hawaiian grown flowers for our assortments and leis. So we are delighted to partner with a small, family farm on Maui that creates such beautiful arrangements,” said Frank MacMillan, owner of Alii Flowers.

Protea flowers grow profusely on the mountain slopes of upcountry Maui. Originating in Africa, protea adapted well to the climate of the island and are widely cultivated there. Varieties include king, mink and pincushion protea as well as banksia.

Handmade Hawaiian Jewelry From With Our Aloha

Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) January 25, 2012

With Our Aloha, a premier provider of Hawaiian flowers and gifts is pleased to announce the addition of Hawaiian handmade jewelry to it’s on-line offerings. The designs are inspired by traditional local themes including native flowers and ancient petroglyphs. In addition to the pendants, With Our Aloha offers an elegant necklace made of small puka shells, malachite, amethyst and lapis lazuli on a string with color glass beads.

“With the remarkable appeal of Hawaii’s flowers and leis it was natural for us to include jewelry as our next catagory,” said Frank MacMillan, owner of With Our Aloha. “Hawaii has so much beauty to offer and our necklaces are a perfect way to share.”

Petroglyphs are stone carvings found throughout the Hawaiian islands. Originally used as a form of communication they have been incorporated into contemporary art because of their striking designs.

Hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii and is found in many colors including yellow, red, pink and orange. They are often worn in the hair but due to their short lives they are not used as cut flowers.

All Asian cultures have a strong influence in Hawaii. So it was natural for the designer to incorporate imagery from Japanese and Chinese cultures including Kanji, cherry blossoms, sushi and koi.

The original designs are printed and glued to a small wooden tile. Each is sealed with a protective coating to insure long lasting beauty. Once completed the pendants are strung on a black satin cord with a silver plated clasp. Each pendant is 3/4 by 7/8 of an inch.

Jewelry items are sent from Honolulu by First Class Mail.

About With Our Aloha

Since 2000 With Our Aloha has sent farm fresh Hawaiian leis, cut flowers, and gift items throughout the US. The company prides itself on using only locally grown Hawaiian flowers as well as crafts and treats created in Hawaii.

Maui Wowi

Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) January 25, 2012

Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies, http://www.mauiwowifranchise.com, is proud to announce their newest franchise members, Ray and Pat Powers, to the Ohana or family.

Having lived in the Seattle area for almost 11 years, and like everyone else in the Northwest, we got caught up in the coffee craze. So when we moved to Kansas City, Kansas we were surprised to see coffee just starting to catch on said, Ray.

With the passing of Rays mother and taking an early retirement, Ray decided he needed something to do. Both Ray and Pat always wanted to own and operate their own business. With a background in Retail and Fast-food Management and a passion for coffee, they started to explore franchise opportunities.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian seemed to fit well with our lifestyle, dreams, and desire. The concept of the Ohana really resonates with us. We see our Maui Wowi franchise as the perfect opportunity to get our grandson Robbie involved. After exploring other franchises we came to the conclusion that Maui Wowi would be a fun and profitable business, said Pat.

The Powers plan to start with a fixed drive-thru location and then expand into events and venues in-and-around the Kansas City area. Because of the Kaannapali cart we felt Maui Wowi Hawaiian offered a flexible business model that would allow us to expand and grow. We think that Kansas City is ready for Maui Wowi Hawaiian and we are excited to spread the Aloha Spirit to the surrounding community, explained Ray.

Planning A Cruise To The Hawaiian Islands

Hawaii is a popular vacation resort and it is easy to understand why.  Hawaii is made up of several small islands including Maui, Oahu and Lanai.  Traditional vacationers normally fly to the Hawaiian Islands.  However, a cruise to Hawaii would make a wonderful vacation.  If you are considering a trip to Hawaii, you may consider taking a cruise instead of flying.

First, more than likely the majority of cruises depart from the west coast and continue on to their destination.  California is a likely place to board the cruise ship that is headed for the Hawaiian Islands.  If you live on the east coast, you will have to find transportation to the west coast.

Second, many cruise ships offer special travel packages especially for honeymooners and families.  Reservations of this nature should be booked at least 6-12 months in advance.  You are more likely to receive better rates if you book the trip well in advance.

You should plan on being away from your home and work for at least three weeks if taking a cruise to Hawaii.  Hawaii is a long trip by air and by boat.  You need to set aside enough time to fully enjoy your cruise as well as taking care of any matters pertaining to your home and job.

Finally, you should do a search on the Internet in an attempt to get as much information as possible concerning travel and rate schedule for your destination.  In addition, it makes it much easier for a travel agent to secure your Hawaiian cruise plans.  The agent will be able to get current rates, as well as information concerning meals, rooms, and other amenities.

A Sensational Holiday in The South Pacific – The Hawaiian Islands

With its locale in the South Pacific and its lush, tropical landscape and climate, it is no wonder the chain Hawaiian Islands come in at #2 on the top 10 great getaways across the US. If you are longing to get off the giant mainland, go to the South Pacific and still be in US territory, than Hawaii is ideal.

Joining the Union in 1959, Hawaii, “The Aloha State” became the 50th state. In 1778 Captain James Cook landed in Waimea Bay on Kauai and by 1810 he unified all six islands. Deciding between Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii’s Big Island will be a tough decision. But there really is something for every family and every couple. It depends on the occasion and what you are seeking.

The Six Islands Making Hawaii

Kauai sits the furthest north and is full of beauty and wonder. It is a perfect setting for weddings and romantic getaways. Coconut Coast and Waimea Canyon are the popular beaches there. A suggested outing is a boat ride to the marvellous cliffs at Napali Coast.

Next in line is Oahu, the state capitol. Oahu is the most populated and lively of the island chain. This is the place to go for modern, local arts and entertainment. On the North Shore you can witness some of the best surfers in the world at their craft. Winter is the surfing extravaganza with giant and dangerous waves. The historic Pearl Harbor rests on Oahu as well as the world-renowned Waikiki Beach.

The Island of Molokai promises a Pacific cultural enrichment with its natives still preserving their Hawaiian ancestry. You will feel like you stepped into the past on Molokai. Tour the town of Kaunakakai for proof of this. Gaze at the glorious flowers and flora in Halawa Valley or visit Kalaupapa National Historical Park.

Lanai once held what was rated America’s top beach, Hulopoe Bay. Lanai City is the central stopping point for shopping and crowded restaurants. To see unusual and rare landscape you must visit Keahiakawelo, or Garden of the Gods as it is known. You will find many things to enjoy here, but you will not find any traffic lights. Lanai is full of luxury and is more secluded than the other islands.

Having a reputation for some of the most stunning beaches in the world, welcome Maui, the second largest island of Hawaii. If you come for the beaches, one place to stop is the Makena Beach State Park. People gather every winter to watch the whales migrating in. The sunrises are spectacular. Lahaina is the hotspot of Maui. The island holds some magnificent scenery, too. Maui’s highest peak is Haleakala and there is a national park there that is worth a visit

With a land mass that would swallow the other five islands, Hawaii’s Big Island derived its name. This island holds adventure. From snow-capped peaks to rainforests and sandy beaches there is a diversity of activity. Hawaii’s Big Island boasts wonderful botanical gardens and waterfalls, too. Kona’s coast has clear waters. And Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. For a popular hotspot visit the historic village of Kailua. Take a sample of ever rich and fresh Kona Hawaiian coffee at one of the plantations. Enjoy the city scene at the island’s capital, Hilo. Or watch the waterfalls plummet at the Hamakua Coast along the scenic drive. Witness green turtles coming ashore onto the famous black sands of Punalu Beach.

The Hawaiian Islands are a Pacific, Tropical Wonderland

Hawaii’s chain of islands are opulent and fragrant with a fresh floral scent. A wonder to the eyes. Full of Palm tree and Hibiscus. You cannot go wrong planning a visit to Hawaii. It is worth a stay any time of year and worth its rank at #2 of must-see places in the US!
