Oahu beach locations, we have compiled what we believe is the most comprehensive beach list of the island of Oahu on the Internet. Getting to or aorund Oahu is the easy part, but if you have no idea or a foggy idea on where you are heading could be problematic...to say the least.

We hope that you enjoy the beachesof oahu as much as we did compiling this list for you! If you are planning a trip to a Oahu beach and need a checklist we have compiled one for you here, with our compliments.

North Shore

Mokuleia beach park

68-919 Kaena Pt. Rd, Mokuleia

This beach is for the adventurous at heart!  A deserted windsurfing beach that offers restrooms, picnic tables and showers.

Haleiwa Alii beach park

66-167 Haleiwa rd, Haleowa

With its protected bay and sand filled channel, Haleiwa Alii beach park is a swimmers paradise. Throw in the reef that protects the bay and you have one great, but a bit technical surf break. Watch out from Oct. thru April when the surf is up and the currents are strong. Amenities include parking, restrooms, showers, lifeguards and a community center.

Haleiwa beach park

62-449 Kamehameha hwy, Haleiwa

Another great swimming beach in Haleiwa. This 12+ acre park not only offers a safe swimming beach but also offers restrooms, picnic tables, showers and a beach that is, in some minds to die for.

Laniakea beach

Kamehameha hwy, Haleiwa

Head to Pohaku way and then go to the Waimea side and you have arrived. One of the best, and popular surfing beaches around, it also offers some great sand to lay up on and watch the action. Swimming here is dicey at best and should not be attempted.

Waimea bay beach park

61-031 Kamehameha hwy, Waimea

Nirvana for surfers the world over, Waimea bay is where surf pilgrimages end. 30+ surf is almost as common as the  sun shining here, and should be experienced with caution. Swimmers should only attempt a swim here in the summer, when the waves and mellow and rolling. Parking stalls, restrooms, picnic tables, showers and lifeguards are here for your convenience and safety.

Pupukea Marine Life Conservation district

Located offshore from Pupuke and Waimea bay.

Located offshore, this park preserves the marine life in the area. Included are 2 great swimming areas, Shark’s cove and Three tables. Snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing abound.

Ehukai beach park

59-337 Ke Nui rd, Pupukea

Looking for awesome views of the banzai pipeline? Enough said.amenities include restrooms, parking, picnic tables, showers and lifeguards.

Sunset beach park

59-104 Kamehameha hwy, Paumalu

If you have no idea what this beach is about, too bad for you! Sunset beach is the home to modern surfing and puts on some pretty good shows in the winter when the surf is up. Amenities include parking, restrooms, showers, lifeguards and picnic tables.

Bayview beach or Kuilima cove

57-091 Kamehameha hwy, Kahuku

located at the turtle Bay resort, this beach offers great snorkeling and swimming on the North Shore, which is a rare occurrence during the winter months.

Windward

Malaekahana state rec. area

56-335 Kamehameha hwy, Kahuku

Home to Goat island (Moku Auia), this is a beautiful white sand beach, At low tide, on calm days you can wade out to Moku Auia but please take note. Currects can be strong and the coral sharp. Please protect your feet and be aware of your surroundings when crossing the channel.

Laie beach park or Pounders beach

55-205 Kamehameha hwy, Laie

A great, and popular bodysurfing beach here on Oahu. Just pull up a towel and tear it up! Amenities include parking, restrooms, picnic tables and fresh water showers.

Ahupuaa O Kahana state park

55-222 Kamehameha hwy @ Kahana bay

A beautiful bay that offers year round swimming. This park contains the Huilua fishpond, an ancient structure that was…a fishpond. There is also being built next door a living cultural park where native Hawaiian families can live while promoting native culture.

Kaawa beach park

51-369 Kamehameha hwy, Kaawa

a beautiful acres that are protected by a coral reef. Great swimming and a popular camping stop in the summertime. Amenities include parking, restrooms, picnic tables and fresh water showers.

Kualoa regional park

49-479 Kamehameha hwy, Kaneohe

With commanding views of the Koolau mountain range and of Mokolii island (otherwise known as Chinaman’s hat), Kualoa regional park is a must see. Not only is it beautiful, but it is an important site with the native Hawaiians and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Amenities include restrooms, camping, lifeguards, picnic tables and fresh water showers.

Kailua beach park

526 Kawailoa rd, Kailua

This white sand beach not only offers great sunbathing, but is the premiere windsurfing and kite surfing spot on the island. Swimming is also a favorite pastime and amenities include lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Lanikai beach

Mokulua dr, along the entire road, Lanikai

If you are looking for that picturesque Hawaiian beach, this one is in the running. Over a mile long and with a  shallow bottom, Lanikai beach is one of our favorite beaches. The waters are protected by an offshore reef and the tradewinds are great for windsurfers and anyone who likes a tropical breeze.

Bellows Field beach park

41-043 Kalanianaole hwy, Waimanalo

This limited access beach (open only on weekends and national holidays) is not only popular but picturesque. A great place to lounge around or try your hand at surfing. Amenities include lifeguards, parking, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Waimanalo Bay beach park

41-043 Aloiloi st, Waimanalo

This is a fantastic and beautiful beach that offers somethingthat many of the beaches of oahu lack, and that is seclusion. A great beach for swimmers, boogie boarders and body surfing. Amenities include lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Southeast

Makapuu state beach

41-095 Kalanianaole hwy

If you bodysurf, you have heard of Makapuu. This is the most famous of all beaches for bodysurfers and is a small, 1,000 foot long beach. Exercise extreme caution from Sept thru April. The rest of the year this beach is generally calm. Amenities include lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Sandy beach

8800 Kalanianaole Hwy (close to the Halona Blowhole)

If Makapuu is #1, then Sandy is #2! More dangerous that Makapuu, Sandy offers great body surfing, and a fantastic beach to take al the action in. Amenities include lifeguards, parking, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Hanauma bay nature preserve

7455 Kalanianaole hwy

This marine preserve not only a great beach, but a wonderful snorkeling destination. The bay has an entry charge and includes free educational tours. The only catch is that it is closed on Tuesdays. Amenities include an education center, food concessions, gift shop, lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms, fresh water showers & a shuttle service.

Kahala beach

The shoreline that is adjacent to Kahala ave.

Great for snorkeling and with an outside surf break, Kahala offers a small, narrow beach for your enjoyment.

Diamond Head beach park

Beach rd off Diamond Head rd.

Away from the tourists, this beach is located at the eastern edge of Waikiki. One of the more popular windsurfing spots on the island, it is also known for surfing and diving. Amenities are limited to parking.

Kuhio beach park

2453 Kalakaua ave, Waikiki

located in front of the Duke Kahanamoku statue and named after a prince, this is one of the more popular tourist beaches in Waikiki. Amenities include lifeguards, food concessions, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Waikikik beach

From the Outrigger Canoe Club to Kahanamoku lagoon.

The most famous and written about beaches in the world, Waikiki is the Queen of all beaches! What else can be said except grab your towel and stake out your piece of sand for the day. Amenities include equiptment rentals, lifeguards, parking, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Fort DeRussy beach

Kalia rd, Waikiki

This is the longest  stretch of sand in Waikiki. The beach occupies land that is part of old Fort DeRussy but is accessible to the public. Come and you willnot be disappointed. Amenities include equipment rentals, food vendors, lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Ala Moana regional park

1201 Ala Moana blvd., Honolulu

If you’re a local, this is your beach. Offers varied activities, a jogging trail and fun in the sun without the crush of tourists of Waikiki. Keep an eye out for the swimming channel if you go in the water, as it is a bit deep. Amenities include equipment rentals, food vendors, lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Southwest

 Ewa beach park

91-027 Fort weaver rd, Ewa Beach

a popular park with swimmers and seaweed foragers. Watch the dropoff offshore, it is dangerous for small children. Amenities include parking, restrooms, fresh water showers.

Nimitz beach

Located on Coral Sea road, Barbers point

A great surfing beach for beginners. Swimmers should watch out for the shallow coral reefs that occupy the area. This beach is located on the old barbers Point military reservation.

Ko Olina lagoons

Ko Olina resort (Ko Onina exit off H1 past Kapolei)

Fantastic snorkeling and swimming with a view to boot! Amenities include lifeguards, parking, picnic tables, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Makaha beach park

84-369 Farrington hwy, Makaha

Wintertime, surfers rule. The rest of the year it’s a swimming, snorkelinga dn diving mecca. If you’re a diver check out the Makaha caves! Amenities include lifeguards, parking, restrooms and fresh water showers.

Yokohama Bay beach park

At the end of Farrington hwy (Hwy 93)

This secluded beach offers the last sand on the northwest side of the island. Surfing for experts only. Local tip – take the hike to Kaena point (Its Oahu’s westernmost point). At a bit over 2 ½ miles it will take about an hour and a half to go out to the point. Amnities are limited to lifeguards and restrooms.
