Types of Accommodations In Hilo, Hawaii

It’s a wise decision to look for a Hilo Hawaii hotel, since there is so much to see and do in the county seat of Big Island. If you want to look for adventure, then Big Island is the place – with ancient active volcanoes, towering waterfalls, and lush botanical gardens. Hilo is a stone’s throw away from Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, Waipio Valley, Kapoho Tide Pools, Richardson Beach and Leleiwi Beach.

Most visitors to Big Island do choose to stay at a hotel in Hilo Hawaii because it’s minutes from the international airport — not to mention, there is a thriving downtown full of cultural museums, art galleries, restaurants and entertainment options. There isn’t much by way of accommodations near Volcanoes National Park, so most people elect to stay at a hotel in Hilo Hawaii and commute the 45 minutes to the volcanoes.

The famous Punalulu Black Sand Beach is located 1.5 hours south and the Kailua-Kona coast is 2.5 hours from Hilo.

Here’s what sort of accommodations you have to select from in Hilo:

46 Vacation Rentals, Homes and Cottages

44 Bed & Breakfasts

26 Hotels & Resorts

16 Condominiums

3 Vacation Ownership Properties

2 Camping & RV Spots

1 Retreat / Camp

1 Hostel

One thing you should be aware of is that the climate is different in the large town of Hilo. A visit to the “rainy side” of the island should definitely be accompanied by a raincoat or umbrella, but you will see verdant green valleys, lush tropical rain forests, wild rivers and such beautiful scenery that you won’t even mind. People like the natural splendor of Hilo, an area which seems less touristy than much of Hawaii. Prices for a Hilo Hawaii hotel are generally very reasonable.

Staying in vacation rentals, homes and cottages is ideal for larger families that feel too cramped in one room. Choosing a breathtaking home is often the only option for a destination wedding or a family reunion where several parties are splitting costs. The downside is that everyone has to clean up after themselves, as there is usually no maid service. Also, there is no room service or conveniently-accessible restaurant on the premises.

Some couples like the intimacy of a bed-and-breakfast Hawaii hotel. In this set up, the owners live and sleep in the house and cook you a large, tasty breakfast in the morning. Often these homes are historic and cozy. However, there will be other couples staying in the rooms as well and sometimes bathrooms must be shared. You will also need to find your own transportation and lunch / dinner reservations. This level of closeness is not necessarily for every traveler or every budget.

Most Big Island visitors choose to stay in one of the hotels in Hawaii, where they are catered to. Room service, maids, golf courses, restaurants, breakfast buffets, transportation hubs, alarm clocks, TVs, mini-fridges, and private baths are all located in a Hawaii hotel. This option is more affordable, offering great comfort and value for the money.

Booking a Beach Rental in Hawaii

Are you gearing up to take a trip to Hawaii? If so, have you decided where you would like to stay yet? If you are like many other vacationers, there is a good chance that you may be interested in staying along the coast. If this is the case, you will be looking to book a stay at a Hawaiian beach rental. If you have yet to make your Hawaiian beach rental reservations, you may want to take a minute and make sure that you are choosing the beach rental that can best fit your needs and the needs of your vacationing party.

When it comes to choosing a Hawaiian beach rental, there are a number of important factors that should be taken into consideration. These important factors include, but are not limited to, price, availability, size, and location. If you are planning on booking a stay a Hawaiian beach rental, you are advised to keep these important factors in mind.

In fact, keeping them in mind will not only ensure that you get to rent a Hawaiian beach rental, but it will also ensure that you get the rental of your dreams, or at least one that can offer you the accommodations that you need.

As previously mentioned, location was mentioned as an important factor that needs to be taken into consideration, when booking a stay at Hawaiian beach rental. Location is important because it will help to determine which Hawaiian beach rentals are available to you. When it comes to location and Hawaii vacations, you need to know which island or islands you plan on visiting. For instance, if you are planning on staying on Hawaii’s Big Island, you will need to want to look for Hawaiian vacation rentals that are on Big Island. In fact, if you know where on Big Island you plan on staying, or any other island for that matter, it would be even easier to choose the perfect Hawaiian beach rental for your vacation.

In addition to location, it is also important that you examine size. When booking a stay at a Hawaii beach rental, you will need to make sure that the rental of your choice can accommodate you and your traveling party, whether that party be your family or your friends. If you are looking for a certain number of bedrooms, you will want to keep that in mind, when searching for beach rentals. Automatically skipping over vacation homes that do not have enough room or space will help to save you time, when searching for the perfect Hawaiian beach rental for your next vacation.

Price is another factor that you may want to take into consideration, when searching for a Hawaiian beach rental. If you are vacationing on a budget, there is a good chance that you may have a spending limit. Keeping this limit in mind can also help you save money. By automatically eliminating or skipping over Hawaiian vacation rentals that are more than you can afford, you should be able to save yourself a fairly large amount of time. Doing so, may result in you being able to find the perfect Hawaiian vacation rental sooner.

As important as it is to keep location, size, and price in mind, when looking to choose a Hawaii beach rental, there is one factor that is more important than all the rest. That factor is availability. You may be able to find a beach rental that is within the area you need it to be, the perfect size, and for an affordable price, but it won’t do you any good if it is already reserved. If the Hawaiian beach rental of your choice is already reserved, you will have to search for alternatives, but you can prevent that from happening by booking your Hawaii vacation reservations, including your beach rental reservations, in advance.

Three Thrilling Activities For Your Next Adventure Vacation

What was your last vacation like? Did you have fun? Did you find something fun to do? Was there some leisure too or did your last vacation consist of shuttling your family around, doing yard work and other chores? Was your last “vacation” more of a “staycation”? Why not go for something different this year? When you have a little bit of time off, why not try out one of the many adventure travels available in your hometown. Even if you don’t want to leave your state, there are many adventures you can try out. If you can afford to spend a little more, why not treat yourself to a true adventure? Here are some of the adventure travels that have become incredibly popular.

If you get joy from the outdoors and like to use your survival skills for living off the land, why not go on an Australian Walkabout? These have become noteworthy adventures, especially after one of the main actors on the television show Lost tried to go on one. The idea behind an Australian Walkabout is that you and your fellow adventurers head out into the Australian Outback with a guide. You solely live off the land, when participating in a walkabout. You gather your own food, construct your own shelter from the available materials and take on any “elements” that might come your way (weather, wild animals, etc). It is similar to extreme camping and can give you a natural high. Are you a lover of seeing new sights? Do you love being able to explore the places you’ve only read about in books? Why not go on a sightseeing adventure travel tour to someplace you have always dreamed of seeing? Attractive tourist destinations include Greece, Rome, Ireland and Scotland, Africa, China and Tibet. Certainly, there is some type of sightseeing tour in nearly every country in the world, so just make a selection of where you desire to go and sign up for a touring trip! Allow someone to guide you through your chosen country’s culture and history.

Have you ever considered going out on a deep-see fishing trip? Most people don’t consider fishing to be an adventure travel. When you are out on the big blue sea, however, fishing is much different. Besides wrangling typically larger fish, you are also dealing with the ocean elements. You never know what can happen, out at sea. Before you make a decision on your landing spot, you need to figure out what kind of fish you want to catch from the deep sea. However, if you prefer, you can always choose your location based on climate and “home base” scenery. One hallowed destination for deep-sea fishing is Hawaii. The purpose of adventure travels is to get individuals to step outside their comfort zone. They help you explore the parts of your personality that you don’t usually let show. Are you sick and tired of sitting on the couch and thinking about what life could be like in another area of the world? Have you always wanted to scale a mountain, swim with dolphins or camp out in the great outdoors of Australia or New Zealand? These are all attainable by you. Simply choose what kind of adventure you want and then go out and have it. It’s easier than you may realize.

What to Take to the Beach in the Summer Heat

Going to the beach is an enjoyable activity, whether you are going by yourself, going with a friend or going with the entire family. The worst thing is to arrive at the beach and realize you’ve forgotten the necessary items you need. By planning ahead and knowing what you need for your time at the beach, you’ll have a great day.

The beach attracts many people. Some like to go for a swim to cool off. Some prefer to find a shaded spot and read a book and some even doze off. Children especially love to play in the sand and build sand castles. Whatever draws you to the beach, be sure to take what you need.

The most important items to take to the beach

* sunblock
* cooler
* bottled water and juice
* sunglasses
* brimmed hat, especially for children
* healthy snacks such as fruit
* life jackets
* disposable wipes for cleaning up
* hand sanitizer
* appropriate footwear
* towels
* swimwear
* cover up
* beach chair or blanket

Fun things to take to the beach

* plastic buckets and plastic shovels for building sandcastles
* a book or magazines if you like to read
* a Frisbee or beach ball
* portable stereo and cd’s
* deck of cards
* balloons for some water fights
* a camera

Since the rays of the sun are beating down on the beach, one of the most important items to take along is sunblock. Make sure you purchase the SPF that is appropriate for your skin and the time you will be in the sun. A sunburn isn’t pleasant and it’s very important to protect tender skin on children, especially. A brimmed hat will also help.

It’s important to drink plenty of fluids to keep from getting dehydrated. The summer heat and the beach can take its toll if you aren’t well-prepared. You sure don’t want to cut the day short by getting a heat stroke.

Wearing appropriate footwear can prevent your feet from getting burned. As cozy as the sand may feel on your feet, it can be way too hot for comfort.

Pack the important items to keep yourself and your children safe. Pack some extras to add to the fun and your day will be one you want to relive again and again.

Another tip: Print a list of what you need and like to take to the beach. Check it each time before heading to the beach so you don’t forget anything.

Planning your Hawaii Honeymoon Travel

Many newlyweds dream of going into a Hawaii honeymoon travel. If you are one of them, you can arrange such an outing even if you are in the heart of Wisconsin. But to make it more memorable, you have to make sure that the person who will handle the planning has what it takes to make your dream honeymoon a success. The various activities and private moments that will never come again should be perfectly recorded in photos, which you could browse years ahead in the future to bring back the memories of the wonderful event. The whole setup should be simple but fun, thus taking away the stress that you could have when planning a wedding.

To be successful a Hawaii honeymoon travel, every event leading to it must be perfectly planned. Many people have the notion that the wedding planning should be done only on the day itself which is wrong.

Every activity that has a successful conclusion results from plans that were made well ahead of the activity itself. Thus you can save yourself from nasty surprises that frequently happen in an unplanned event. But of course you do not have to do all these things by yourself since you can hire someone to do it.

The background of your chosen wedding planner is important of course, but he does not have to be a professional photographer or a wedding planner by training to do it. What is important is the experience. Even if he was a scriptwriter but have managed more than ten years of wedding planning successfully, he can do the job right. Remember that you are going to start a new chapter of your life by getting married. Why not get off to a good start by getting a successful wedding planner that can take care of your Hawaii honeymoon travel plans as well.

Learning a new language? Here’s some help!

Hey Everybody it’s Inari Sasorri here broadcasting some great news!

Have you ever tried to learn a new language, but find it depressingly hard to learn anything. I love to dabble in other languages here and there, but I’ve found it utterly hard to learn new languages. That is why I love to listen to music in other languages. Have you ever heard a song in another language that is just so darn catchy? You try to hum it to yourself, but it gets kind of hard because you don’t know the words. You end up youtubing the song and learn most of the song by the end of the day.

That, my pups, is a simple first step to learning a new language. For example, I love Japanese music, always have and always will! When I first started to listening to Japanese I had to find English translations to the song. After comparing the two languages in the song, I slowly began to understand the meaning of certain words. When you keep doing this step, you can easily pick up the words you already understand and put the two together. The music in the song helps greaty because you stay on beat and the rhythm helps you memorize what words come next in the sentence.

Another thing you can do is, like step one, when you read a senctence, try to say it in a tune. This helps the words stick in your head and soon it will just come naturally to you.

The last step I will talk about here is to watch as many subtitled movies, animes, cartoons, and t.v. shows. This will give you a very vivid picture to what you are hearing, and help you piece the sound with the picture.

This is all I have for now and hopefully I will have more in the near future. Good luck to everybody out there, and keep learning! We need more people like you who are willing to take the time to understand another’s language, culture, and way of life. If you have any comments or tricks that you would like to share, then please by all means leave a comment below!

Catch you later everybody! This fox needs a cat nap!

Five Free Things to Do In Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach, Florida is a great family vacation destination. It is less crowded than the better known Daytona Beach, or Saint Augustine. In fact, our family goes to the area two or three times a year for a long weekend. One might think that we would run out of places to go and things to do there, but we find the town to be relaxing, safe and family friendly. We have found these trips can be inexpensive and fun. In fact, here are five free things to do in Cocoa Beach!

Watch the Cruise Ships Leave.  Port Canaveral is on the way in to the city, and these huge structures are amazing to see, especially for kids. Everyday around four o’clock, a cruise ship sets sail.  By stopping at the park located in the port (where the public boat ramps are), the whole family can see these enormous ships and the tiny people on them. This a fine place to get ideas for future vacations

Check Out the Catch of the Day. After waving goodbye to the ships, there are several restaurants and charter fishing stands next to the park.  Those boats come in around five. We found this the first time we came, and never miss it. Take a look and see what was caught that day, and see how they are cleaned. Join the pelicans and other watchers who are interested in what’s happening. Last time we were there, squid, lobster, barracuda, and a shark were brought in.

Go to the Beach.  While this may seem obvious, Cocoa Beach has several great things going for it. There are great waves, and on many days, surfers can be watched as they ride them in. The beach, even on the Fourth of July is really not over crowded. That being said, arrive early to get good parking. Aircraft from two nearby Air Force bases are seen all along the coast. Kids will enjoy seeing the flying billboards and seeing the shipping traffic.

Window Shop. Cocoa beach is the Home to the famous Ron Jon’s surf shop, while next door is the Cocoa Beach Surf Company. Both are neat places to check out surf boards, a shark tank, and all sorts of touristy goodness. Around the corner from these places is The Dinosaur Store. This place has tons of fossils and casts of every boy’s favorite animal. Additional shopping is to be found all over, and a mall, Merritt Square is ten minutes away.

Watch a Rocket Launch. This area of Florida is known as “The Space Coast”.  This place has great places to watch a rocket or the space shuttle take off into space. After checking with the online launch schedule, head to the park at the Port Canaveral, or back to the beach. From there, look north. Once the launch happens, you can see the flame and smoke very clearly. Then the booming sound comes. It is thrilling and exciting sight to see.

A short vacation in Cocoa Beach can be as enjoyable as you make it. These tips cost nothing, and become the basis for family stories you and your children will remember for years. Even if your family has been before, these suggestions have value for several returns. So, take some time and go do it!
